Unless there is a clause that you specifically have to do the work and not just oversee it in I don’t see it being illegal, and most likely it would just be breach of contract if there’s an NDA that you signed and the poo did not. Most vendors do this but they have their subcontractor also sign an nda to them. Just go pro and get a business license to sort it out.

one problem I can forsee happening is taxes if upwork is giving a 1099k or similar, or even if that money is just going through your account. you would want to set something up where you can write off those costs so you only pay on the difference
