Is it safe?

>> No.52399975

If it isn't, I will kill myself

>> No.52400043

it's not. usdc is tied to ftx & goldman sachs, go figure

>> No.52400078

>>52399951
no, circle can freeze it, regulators can force kyc and fed can ultimately rug it
stick to BTC and self-custody for fuck's sake, you didn't learn anything?

read about the tether treasury paper analysis from 2017/8. it mentions usdc and other stablecoins being pretty much scams

What's the FTX connection?
>>52400078
Very true, but I was more wondering about USDC's safety in relation to the current shitshow

There are a couple gold backed audited coins. PaxG, etc. Probably significantly more solvent than Dollar based coins. Harder to bullshit an auditor on pallets of gold versus "reserves" in god knows what.

But Tether is even more of a scam, isn't it?
I am holding all my money in BUSD/USDC (50-50) and I am worried it might not be safe enough, but I don't wanna ride the bitcoin train while it's still going down.

Probably TrueUSD or something.
You can redeem it yourself on their official site.
It's backed 1:1, but nothing is really safe in the crypto space.

Other than taking on unnecessary counterparty risk, your holding an asset pregged to an asset that's losing it's value daily. It's a bad move. The market isn't going to flip anything soon. Either cash it out and buy short term treasuries or buy Bitcoin and forget about for a few years.

>> No.52400384

>>52400365
Cashing out is not an option, my turd world currency is deemed to inflate to hell because a literal communist will assume power next year.
