Pretty entertaining first day, what was your highlight?

Definitely Eric. Nothing new was said, but Eric showed how a conversation between people should look like, the rest of the panels were brainlets talking to robots.

Can we try to compile the highlights of what Eric said? I'm trying to keep it all together in my mind but there were like a hundred things between the lines as well, I will rewatch this for weeks.

what i came in hoping:
>CCIP launch
>FSS launch
>staking launch
>DECO launch
>partnerships with SWIFT, DTCC, BNYmellon, microsoft
>arbitrum acquisition
>eric schmidt using his massive influence to other fortune 500 companies to nudge them towards LINK

what i got:
>homeless subway band
>CCIP PoC
>FSS prototype
>staking will launch at the end of the year because he announced at the beginning it would. (this was not a definitive would launch, its just "on track" to)
>DECO no mention
>PoC with swift who they have supposedly worked with for 5 years. nothing from DTCC or BNY
>arbitrum is interested in FSS
>eric schmidt giving sergey a lecture in public about how to properly run his company

Im sure fucking glad i took off work for this conference and told my coworkers ill probably retire after this weekend

I rewatched it, some things related to the ending (where Sergey appeared aloof):
1. Sergey whispered to him "go on before the car? goes"
2. The nigger who took the mic said to the audience "I know you're all in a rush to leave"
3. All other "fireside chats" in the schedule have a programmed duration of 15-25 minutes, this one lasted over 40
4. At the beginning of the chat, Sergey exclaimed "let's get right into this to make the most out of our time"

So could it be that they were on a rush? Maybe even behind schedule?
What did "go on before the x goes" (not sure if he said car) mean? Should Eric be in a rush about something, hence Sergey is letting him know? How does Sergey know about Eric's means of transportation? Could it be that Sergey expected this to end sooner and is nervous about being late? Could it be that they are actually going to share this method of transportation?

This idea of "urgency" or feeling of being late is strengthened by the nigger's usage of the word "rush". Maybe he just meant it because it had been a lot of hours and they were tired, but maybe it also meant that they indeed stayed there beyond schedule

About the 3rd point, again I'm not sure because Eric's is the only fireside chat in schedule that happens at the end of the day. But literally every single other "fireside chat" has a time budget of anywhere between 15-25 minutes. Eric's was ~42. Could it be that they were really thin on time?

Finally Sergey appears to be in a state of rush from the very beginning, eager to get started ASAP and wanting to "make the most" of the time. Could it be that Sergey's awkwardness that many people sensed wasn't really him being unprepared, but him being uncomfortable about being late or out of schedule?

And back to point 1, why does Sergey know of Eric's transportation plans? "Go on before the car goes"?
Could it be that they will share a vehicle? In that case he wasn't rude at all, as they will still be together for a while

That's all

people keep saying stuff like this. do you really think sergey doesn't understand what he's building, and that eric is telling him something new for the first time at smartcon? obviously not. the point is to signal to the VIEWER what we here already know and what sergey and eric already know. Eric gets to play the role of shark and advisor and mentor, and sergey gets to act like a humble dev who just wants to build opensource software gosh darnit and if people build on it well then thats great too. but they both know exactly whats going on, and what their end goal is, and this is the closest we've ever gotten to them saying it outloud for us.

I feel like Eric really hinted pretty heavily at the Hiding Strategy concept throughout the talk. Chainlink being years ahead technologically, the profundity of compensation via token ownership where value is tied 1:1 with network scale, and him calling out Sergey on Chainlink's goal being identical to Google's early on (get a piece of the compute pie within all of Web2/Web3). Makes me wonder if the Hiding Strategy quote was planted here by Chainlink Labs or Steel Perlot to paint a picture.
