Fucking gay. We should be pumping or at least stable with inflation sky high, and we would be if institutional investors were not so involved imo.
Now instead just because interest rates are rising, or even the idea of them rising causes BTC to plummet as its price action is now controlled by institutional investors who make up the volume. If they decide its a NASDAQ x3 then it is and BTC is now basically a more volatile stock as that is what institutional investors treat it as.

I firmly believe had this happened 5 years ago we would be either mooning sustained till inflation stopped, or at least steadily crabbing.

In the US, 'institutional' investors are just an extension of the USD status quo. They could never afford real price discovery that goes against the narrative of 'nothing to see here' and so its price will be kept artificially low and volatility will be used to scare away adoption. It's best to keep saying 1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin. The USD is dying. Elsewhere bitcoin is viewed completely different. Bitcoin will survive the USD. So enjoy this ride down, accumulate towards 10K or less. Once the USD or its digital successor stops being a reserve currency for the world, the true value will be shown. Incidentally, the same can be said with even more certainty because its established about gold.

Of course institutional investors make it all worse because they're overleveraged out the ass. The entire fucking economy is overleveraged with money and assets that don't even exist. It's a gigantic ponzi, a game of musical chairs.

Satoshi was right when he concluded that the economic system is rotten to the core by unscrupulous actors. He was wrong by thinking that a new kind of money could solve the issue because synthetic assets and leverage are not a function of money but a gigantic cancer that wraps itself around money and feeds off of it. That's how BTC ended up with futures and companies taking millions of dollars in loans to "invest" in what essentially was supposed to be nothing but a coin. Now they have to sell everything to cover their loans.
