Yeah this is definitely a shakeout. Retards are freaking out and coming to outlandish conclusions. It means that Binance is just letting people know that the 1.2% tax on chain is a thing and that it will affect withdrawals and deposits. It’s essentially just an announcement that an on-chain change will be happening and has nothing to do with what they plan to do off-chain. Any intentions as to what will happen off-chain will likely come far closer to the burn date and will be coordinated with TR if such a thing does happen. Remember that TR has been in talks with almost every major exchange, so if it were the case that exchanges will not be burning off chain a coordinated announcement between TR and exchanges would have to be put out to clarify the situation.

I’m with this anon. 4 years to reduce circulating supply (and we have to factor in the reduction in volume for off chain as well once the tax hits) is too long in crypto. The hype really was around Binance and larger exchanges doing an on-chain tax and treating LUNC like a blue chip shit coin.

LUNC will recover and I’m bullish but this is a good opportunity to take profit, swing and short while the market absorbs this news. I’m up 500% and all in BUSD waiting for a good re-entry.

CZ will definitely announce a 1.2% tax “event” out of the blue and pump his bags again, but I don’t see it happening for at least a week, likely not until a few days after the 20th.

It’s a shame as the TR team are great and I think the Google carbon stuff and slow and steady burn will work to their favour, but in the short term, I’m locking in my profits and hoping to increase my bag on the way down.

Is the burn tax perhaps too much?
From the staking perspective, you have to pay fees and potentially 1.2% tax to send coins to terra station, then pay fees and 1.2% burn tax to delegate, then when you want to sell you have to pay fees and 1.2% tax to undelegate, more fees and 1.2% tax to send to exchange, then more fees and potential 1.2% tax on the sell.

Thats 6% in burn tax potentially, plus all the fees.
I can't be bothered to work out how much the fees would be per 1 million LUNC, but the 6% burn tax would be 60,000 per 1 million LUNC.
That is huge!
Considering you only make about 1000 LUNC per day for staking it would take 2 months of staking JUST to cover the burn tax.
