yeah it's annoying as fuck. The only reason European nations seem so prosperous is because since WWII the USA has subsidized their military and defense spending. We contribute what like 90% of NATO's budget? That frees up a lot of money for them to spend on infrastructure and social welfare programs. I don't totally blame them, but now that the USA is having problems it's unclear how much longer the money train will continue. Trump tried to end it, but it's likely it will end in the future with or without Trump. Ukraine is sort of holding on against Russia only because of absolutely massive aid from the United States. If we hadn't given them literally 80 billion dollars and tons of high tech weapons, Russia probably would've taken Kiev by now.
