I think some people will have to apply. I looked on MOHELA and it recognized the new date in an announcement after I logged in.
I qualify for the 20k which makes me Scott free so once that app opens I'm applying. Apparently some people won't have to apply.

Technically I should qualify for this. I went to a cc though and got my degree in nursing so made good money right off the bat and only had like 4k in loans. I wonder if this is a one time forgiveness, because I would love to learn a second trade.

You have to pay the taxes on the 'canceled debt' and you basically sign away your self-sovereignty to the corporation that now owns you in public law, not just through admiralty law.
