Poorfag land buyer here. Just purchased my first piece of land, an undeveloped 5 acre lot in rural Colorado at the base of a mountain. Cost me $10,000. I am fucking hyped to finally be a landchad this feels completely different from crypto.

I was going to buy some cheap land (im in Australia), it was a huge amount of land, and it was only like $1,000.

The catch was that it is in the middle of nowhere, and the government taxes the land out there by its size, so your taxes for holding that $1,000 bit of land would be something like $150,000/year.

>Crested Butte
The resort fucked locals over when they joined Epic, the New Yorkers in that video said they moved there because it was on the Epic pass. Ski towns around the country are fucked and there's nothing that can be done about it.

If there's no utilities available to OP's land then he just paid for a plot to park a camper, WFH faggots aren't living off grid with no water/electric and they're definitely not living in an area with no outdoor recreation. I don't know where OP's land is but it's not within 45 minutes of a ski resort if it was that cheap.

The concept I believe is that if you hodl the land for a century, eventually society will build out there, and $1,000 investment in that huge amount of land will end up paying off 1,000,000,000X in 100+ years

its just that you have to pay huge amounts of taxes for every year you hodl it and its doing nothing, but 5 generations ahead of you are going to own land worth billions

It looks like there will eventually be an attempt at a McMansion subdivision with the houses on 5 acre plots. Probably just gonna hold the property for awhile. I’m also pretty connected in the hemp industry as my day job and so I may lease it to growers

I'm looking at an undeveloped piece of land in a future subdevelopment as well. what's your plan in 5 years, join them?
I think if you get a shipping container, they'd eventually form an HOA and force you to get rid of it

Oof that’s about twice what they went for 5 years ago, but you’ll be selling it for about that in a couple years yourself. It’s just the cycle of the land.

Lemme guess, you bought a little plot at the base of Blanca Peak. I really hope you are one of the few that actually make it work out there but most who do are methheads so I guess pick your poison.

My dad bought land in Marble CO close to Aspen in the 80s with the same intention as you, wait for it to appreciate and sell for a profit. In 2003 he finally gave up and sold it for what he paid for it. The taxes over that time added up to him losing like 30,000 on the deal. Don't be like old Gary. What county is your plot in?

>So poor they have to buy their way into property ownership

Pathetic. If not for worms like you, my family's feudal lands would still be intact.

Reminder that no matter how much money you make or land you buy, you'll still be a literal shit-blooded peasant, who in olden days would be forced to prostrate yourself before us for even the thought of renting out some of my acres.

Reminder that when we owned those fucking villages we also owned the lives of every motherfucker in them...
