Hate to go full bank-nerd on you, but fractional reserve hasn't existed since 1933. Since then, banks simply create new digital money when they issue loans, and our entire money supply is created this way.

What this dude was doing was more likely "naked shorting" or just accounting fraud.

>Fractional-reserve banking is the system of banking operating in almost all countries worldwide, under which banks that take deposits from the public are required to hold a proportion of their deposit liabilities in liquid assets as a reserve, and are at liberty to lend the remainder to borrowers.

You are wrong. Also, this is not a conspiracy, it's how the world works. It's surprising to learn how new money is created at first in middle school, but that's about it.

No, you are wrong. The fractional reserve model says that the money being lent exists in an account somewhere before the borrower arrives. This is untrue! In fact, the money lent to borrower is created digitally AFETR the borrower signs the loan contract.

I agree that banks create all money, but the Fractional Reserve model is a garbage description that 100% disproven by Professor Richard Werner in 2014. Since then even the Bank of England admits that banks simply create new money when they lend with no need for prior reserves or deposits.

Unfortunately, wikipedia, mainstream media, public schools, and colleges all still teach the debunked fractional reserve model. And brainwashed flunkies like you are so deluded in lies that you are willing to defend this easily-disproven nonsense!
