Fantom is very fast and very cheap. Has a lot of degen dapps if that’s your thing. The FVM is being released in batches and should be done before the end of the year. Only downside is that there’s not a whole lot of validators yet. That’s intentional as every FVM update requires validators to update quickly or it fucks shit up. And if you have thousands having to update constantly there will obviously be issues. So the plan is to fully release FVM first and the expand validators.

I tried a bunch of other L1s and fantom is my favorite. Just feels easy to use.

>>50840190
Aside from a sybil attack several years ago that was dealt with promptly, there haven't been any issues related to its security. Even when people were piling into Fantom en masse during the previous bullrun it was 100% operational (despite gas fees being high).

Aside from that it's your ordinary L1, but the core developers have been working on and implementing massive improvements in its infrastructure as well as a complete overhaul of EVM which they're calling FVM. The dApp ecosystem is also very good (even if you discount Tomb and its forks), rivaling ETH in a lot of aspects. The only problem it has is being extremely weak to FUD and violently dumping whenever Andre Cronje has a freakout on Twitter.

>that there’s not a whole lot of validators yet
Thanks for the actual information. Is there any sort of guidance/roadmap for actually decentralizing the validators? / At this point we can think of it as about as centralized as BSC no?
Fantom and cronos are my next 2 chains to degen into

>> No.50841220

>>50841099
its easy to use until the network becomes congested. then it becomes a piece of shit, a centralised piece of shit. i enjoyed using it too outside of market volatility

>> No.50841286

>>50841202
Well here's the thing. Fantom will NEVER have tons of validators. It uses a hashgraph style algorithm. Yeah it'll continue to grow but you hit a point where it drops off. But fantom wins out in speed and cost. It's the blockchain trilemma.

Fantom validation to me is decentralized in the sense that anyone can start a node if they want to buy in. But it's just as fast and cheap as something like SOL or BNB but without the baggage. I know this sounds like cope but until someone solves the blockchain trilemma, then i think the future is multichain and fantom is without a doubt the best of the solutions that sacrifices decentralization for speed and cost.

>> No.50841297

>>50841220
Supposedly that's a limitation of EVM which is why they started on the FVM. I hope it addresses it but might not.

>> No.50841298

>>50841202
Not sure about the validator timeframe. Maybe they out something out but I’m not aware of it.

>>50841220
Yeah it had issues during peak times but with Tombchain and Boba L2s it should hopefully ease congestion during the worst of times.

im looking forward to it. i did prefer fantom over the other L1s, up until that point. also ive stayed away since andres exit

>>50841298
ugh, you'd think that a competitor of ethereum wouldnt need L2s. havent looked into tombchain yet, honestly didnt realise it was a thing desu. im glad the tomb fork bullshit came to an end though, that was getting ridiculous

>> No.50841717

I honestly sold a lot of mine for a nice profit when the market started to tank. Over a dollar so not bad. However, I did keep what I had staked and given the seniority and competency of the system - I’m very glad I did. When btc and Eth take off (and they will soon - look for after Shimita (Jew sp?) ends) Fantom will be one of few that absolutely rockets up as well. It is a buy right now, and will probably hit $6 on the low end, $12 middle and up to $32 on the high.

There are objectively bad cryptos. If you mean all can potentially be financially lucrative off the gullibility of clueless boomers, then yes, it’s indeterminate potential and neither good nor bad. Still some coins are brilliant and are objectively good.

It goes without saying FTM is not a good one.
