Why are credit cards often required in the US?
I live in europe and I have never had a credit card and don't see a single reason why would I need to get one. I have never (and never will) borrowed money for anything and I always pay cash or using debit cards. I plan visiting the US and the place I would be staying requires a credit card and also the rental car place requires one. Is the credit card really needed or can I just use a debit card for these?

>> No.50838855

i live in europe and credit cards are based and redpilled if you're not a brainlet
in my country there are cards with no annual fee and with various perks like cashback (usually cucked to 0.5% though because of EU regulations), no currency conversion fee, discounted/free cash advance, free cash withdrawals, discounted split purchases into monthly payments
you don't pay any interest rate if you pay the bill on time
t's just free liquidity so that you can have more money invested instead of keeping a lot of cash for emergencies and getting cucked by inflation

The US is a debtmaxx country, so naturally credit cards are mandatory

yes you can use a debit card.

one of the biggest scams that (((they))) ever performed was in the naming of those two cards, for you see the names are switched

I use a credit card truly to spite small business owners. Anytime I go into the liquor store, I always pay with my American Express card even though I usually have a few hundred dollars cash on me and any given time. The pajeet clerk always gets mad and says I should pay in cash next time or he won't service me unless I buy over $200 worth of merchandise. I've done this five or six times and he has done basically nothing about it. Lol

Most of the time in the US, a debit card works just fine, and a credit card is not needed. Car rentals & hotels do sometimes require a a credit card; apparently if you end up trashing the car or room it is easier to charge extra fees to a credit card than debit. There is also stuff like parking tickets and whatnot for rental cars. If you do not have a credit card, some rental places will be fine with debit, and others will be okay if you pay a larger deposit.

credit cards can be very useful if you are not a retard but a lot of retards thinks are extra money and get credit cards without knowing how works

Credit cards require a credit check to get. Exceptionally shitty people do not qualify for credit cards. This allows hotels and rental cars to efficiently filter out the riskiest consumers without breaching discrimination laws.

>> No.50841352

Rental car is one of the few situations I can think of where you actually "need" a credit card. For 98% of situations a debit card will get you by just fine.

US credit cards actually offer decent rewards too, so if you get points back and don't carry a balance, it puts a little extra money back in your pocket.

Americans need to show their overlords what good goys they are when they borrow money and pay it back, much like a dog bringing back the ball to its owner, unquestioning on why he does it. Their rulers implemented a credit scoring system based on how well they can be trusted with a loan. No or a low credit score means you’re a bad goy, and a high credit score means you’re a good little pet that would never betray its master.

It’s how things work in the land of the free. You wouldn’t get it as an outsider.
