The new ebay sucks since they split with PayPal. Fees are ridiculously high now and don't understand how big sellers are making money since Im guessing they are passing those extra fee costs to the customer ie price increase. My buddy sold his old iPhone a few months ago on ebay. Ended up having to pay a 15% sellers fee that eBay pulls as soon as you sell you item. Then they won't release the funds to you until 2 days after the shipping tracking status shows delivered. From what I was told, pre pandemic the listings were free with zero sellers fee. Selling shit on eBay is a headache now

I’ve had an account for 3 years with 80 positive reviews. A buyer last week bought my item. He messaged me trying to negotiate sending him more free shit with it. I politely refused. He never even paid but he still was able to leave a negative review. Now they limited me to 1 listing and are holding my money on all recent sales based on that 1 review. What a fucking joke this site is. I just wish there was a better alternative for 1 off collectible items. Amazon is only good for mass goods and Mercari is still too small.

You have no idea what's coming.
Imagine a selling platform that uses crypto and that crypto's seller's fee is paid out as dividends to the Token holders. Imagine mining crypto and spending it on a World Market Place where you can get goods.

But when V2 comes online there will be an influx of Private sellers to this platform.
Its the only way to sell., I have some 20K of resell merchandise I am holding for Version 2 of this World Market Place.

I used to run the ecommerce department of an auto parts company that primarily went through eBay and Amazon. eBay became such a pain in the dick in 2020 that I was happy to be laid off when the place closed down because California's COVID restrictions and the owner's jewish tricks bankrupted us. We were doing a quarter million a month in sales, hundreds of packages a day. The sheer amount of niggers stealing our product and filing false claims against us made the job unmanageable. I swear half of every work day was spent on the phone with eBay trying to erase bad feedback and getting cases against us closed. This was right as they were getting ready to split from PayPal and I had accounting blowing me up everyday as well cause the numbers were off on everything.

Fuck eBay.

>> No.50828080

>>50828031
I don't know if it's any different in America or other eBay sites, but in the UK I get offers very regularly, usually every 2-4 weeks.
I've been selling on eBay for over ten years and have literally never paid the full fees. If I had to pay the full fees I wouldn't bother, because that is indeed a rip-off. But when it's just 2% of the sale price or £1, I think it's fine.
If you go to My eBay -> Account -> Communication Preferences -> Marketing Communications, you can turn on "Selling promotions" which means they'll email you whenever there's a promotion going. Otherwise, you can follow deal websites (I use HotUKDeals), or just manually check eBay to see if there's an offer available.

>> No.50828123

I should add that the promotions are usually account-specific. From following discussion threads on HotUKDeals, there are some people that regularly get £1 max fees offers, while others usually get 80% off, and others get 70% off, etc. I imagine it probably depends on your activity as a seller. So if you want the best offers, simply refuse to accept subar promotions, and don't list anything for sale when you don't have a promotion active.

I've been selling on and off there since 2015 and there was always a 10% final value fee. Free listings are still around, you can get around 300 or so without an ebay store. Sometimes ebay runs promotions that lower the final selling fee on certain categories.

I sold used ASICs to people and one dude bitched about his. I stated in the listing the hashrate to expect and that 1 of the hashboards would/could be bad per device. One buyer predictably complained about not having a perfect device (1 hashboard was dead). I gave them a new hashboard just to get a positive rating and eBay did the same shit. Held all my money for 90 days despite tracking (through their program) showing everything delivered and feedback being received. I missed out on re-investing in Kadena at $0.30 before it went to $22 because of lack of funds (they were holding around $7k total of my money). I never got a reason why, and they later suspended my account permanently. Fuck eBay, I hope those Jews die.

I've had much better experiences on Mercari. Fees are still high, but not as bad as eBay, and when a buyer tried to screw me on a purchase he didn't win by default with no explanation given.

>> No.50832307

>>50832175
It not a problem of code or infrastructure. It's the network effect. As a seller, I know I'll make more money on eBay vs competing sites. For example, I could sell a gtx 1080ti for $350 on eBay awhile back but might only get $280 on Mercari for one because less people use Mercari. So despite the lower fees on Mercari I still earn less. And for obscure items there might not be any buyers. The situation seems to be improving but that's the problem I've noticed.

Antique Dealer here- eBay is still the main go to for many collectables and will be for some time despite its many problems, which I also have been through during their various policy changes.

Facebook market place has taken a lot of the lower end items though as its easier than ever for normal people to offload them online. Etsy has taken a part as well, not sure how it will be in 10+ years as I know many people left in the last 3 years. Not sure what a possible solution would be.
