Because they are profoundly different market caps and have very different daily volume, which means that $10MM dollars going into each could (for the sake of discussion) produce a 1% rise in ETH and a 10% rise in AVAX depending on the day and market conditions. Lower volume lower cap coins pump much more easily from a given amount of money entering them than coins like ETH or BTC
