a normal salary is like 40k a year in my country while at the same time we have very high taxes and a high cost of living. the system is set up to keep workers impoverished throughout their working life and throughout their retirement until they die. even a lot of people with valid disability claims get rejected and even if you get disability it's barely enough to survive on.

meanwhile if you have 1 million in the stock market you can safely extract 40k a year from that while keeping up with or beating inflation. and there's extremely low taxation on stocks in my country so it's equivalent to a much higher salary than 40k. and you have all your time left over in which you can run a business on your own terms or do whatever leisurely activities etc.
