Was born to mentally ill impoverish parents.

Self-determinationcels can cope. It's insane how much influence genetics and socioeconomic upbringing has on every aspect of your future.

That's why I laugh when leftfags think they can end poverty or drug abuse. Unless genetic engineering reaches a level where we can create literal Übermensch, it ain't going to happen. I'm not suggesting it's hopeless and self improvement is a waste of time, but there are certain walls that cannot be broken.

2013. Saw a doc on Bitcoin. Thought it was too shady due to having to meet in person to trade. I also have social anxiety.

Essentially my social anxiety has cost me potentially millions of dollars. I can’t even think about it for too long. Everything that happened in crypto after the bitcoin explosion looked pale in comparison to that.

Yep, biggest retard on this thread. You are pointing out exactly why nasdaq pumped too, yet saying this has only helped crypto pump.
>At the same time, companies have been inventing new technology, producing goods and services, and issuing dividends.
Yet we are living in the era of great stagnation and you refuse to acknowledge (or to mention) how crypto is essentially one of the new inventions of our century, on the level of the telephone or the toaster. Very few of the ideas of these newer companies has been something entirely new like crypto, or worse, is profitable. Uber isn't profitable, neither Tesla and many others. The only real reason to hold stocks is due to dividends, and once you realize binance savings probably offers more returns than any dividends, then there's no reason to be on the legacy market right now, especially after it's oped so much and every share is expensive as shit whereas some shitcoins are dirty cheap. Found Bitcoin in 2012 but was too distracted being young and in college and depressed.

Knew about Ethereum in 2015 but was too distracted being young and in grad school and depressed.

Decided to channel depression into studying this space as much as possible in 2017. Decided to go all in OMG because I was investing in the advisor team basically Vitalik and friends. Didn't get LINK.

Decided to go all in GRT when it came out, seeing the new LINK opportunity. Made 1.5M but never cashed out, rode it down all the way. I'm basically at initial.

There are plenty of companies that innovate and develop useful technology slowly, new lines of gene therapy drugs have come out, Cystic Fibrosis has basically been cured, robotic automation is being developed for many industries. Even Tesla (despite an impractical multiple on its profits) is developing better Electric cars and more importantly, batteries.
The last time I used Bitcoin was to buy weed seeds, and the only other use I can think of would be to flee the country if it starts to fall apart. Things like an inflation hedge would be better spent investing in companies or just owning futures on commodities.

Engineering and a college degree is fickle af. For all of you Gen Z guys I have to be honest. Life without a degree will suck, but with a degree you've got better odds of it not sucking but with College debt
People I know that graduated with STEM degrees that ended up in small family run firms. making crap wages and doing the major workload and under a lot of stress. The few that got lucky got 60k (Northeast so just barely making it, if you live with your parents)
I got really lucky by getting a corporate job, with a tech title that pays a little more than what my peers were making back on long island and NYC, but I had to move upstate and pay rent to live in the equivalent of the south.

olfag here, this is what went wrong for me:
>listen to teachers (in comp science school) that btc is a fraud, they've seen it countless times before
>later I started investing but had fucking milk money only
>Go all in on an ico in 2017, works great, repeat and repeat again.
>Go all in request (req) ico. Ride up all the way up to 1$
>euphoric, daydreaming about the cool shit I could buy
>market crashes
>chilloutyougotthis.jpg
>it's going to recover, this is just a little set back
>goes lower
>lowe
>much lower
>Mid six figures to low 4 figures
>sell
>quit crypto till early 2019
>starting to buy ETH/BTC
>swear myself I'll never touch a shitcoin again
>live in taxrapistan only can invest 1k a month while living worse than a hobo in the usa
>accumulated a little more than 100 eth, 1 btc
>market moons in 2021
>start daydreaming again, I'm in mid 6 figures after all this time
>OH SHIT DONT BE DUMB AGAIN
>Sell 100k worth eth at the top
>Fomo back in just a week later, make a little profit but immediately regret
>market crashes
>back in low 6 figures
Life is cruel when you're dumb. I can't explain it otherwise, it must be my iq. I'm glad i never fell out of six figures again (so far) but I could have basically made it 2 times now already and fucked up both times. The thought of selling everything at my top (around 500k) and then buying back in at the low point, securing a sure MAKE IT NEXT RUN stack makes me so miserably depressed, I feel alone with all of this. It fucking sucks. Good luck to you lads, maybe someone can learn from my shit. Oh also mined dogecoin in comp sc. school but lost my key, kek. That was around 120k at the doge peak that I lost access to.

not believing in myself or what was going to happen even though we've been through this scenario in crypto 3 times now.
each time everyone says 'it's different this time!', then it's different with the same outcome.
now its easy mode:
- buy BTC and ETH, as much as you can over the next 18 months
- wait till the next post halving bullrun (mid 2024? early 2025? dont know)
- sell at a profit if you want

bonus round
- buy a bag of reasonable wildcards like DOGE, BNB and SHIB. find a leveraged trading platform you like and put a 3x long on it sometime around the next BTC halving (judge the market conditions)
- sell when you've either hit your profit target, or you start seeing dumb articles in your news feeds like "can Doge really hit $1?? ddeerp" thats when you know you're getting near the end of the bull run
