I used to Uber eats and it shows how much the person tips before you deliver. I would always either eat some their food, fries, chips, etc. or I’d pick my nose and rub it on their hamburger bun or just spit in it assuming it was a food with sauces on/in it.

Uber will just refund me - they expect drivers to keep food in insulated bags and can see how long it took them to arrive, and they will obviously refund for damage.

On top of that, the restaurants I always order from know me and I ask them to staple the bags shut, meaning I'd know if the stupid driver opened it.

not tipping is unironically black behavior. Even before I was making serious money I tipped because I wasn’t raised by white trash / baboons. It’s like returning a shopping cart or throwing away trash in a bin; it sounds absolutely stupid or sheeplike to subhumans, but it’s natural conduct for everyone else. Obviously that’s all voided if the service is is shit.

It is actually cheaper to go and pick up your food 10/10 times.

Lazy fat fuck americans using doordash are a part of a cancer that is destroying the food industry.

I've been working at a pizza shop for three years. I wasn't supposed to stay there so long but I got greedy and didn't sell the LINK top, cost me 10x my salary. BUT MAN everyday I thank God that I'm not ordering takeout or going out to eat. You guys really don't have anything else to do but stuff your faces.

One day I'll open a restaurant where you will put in your mouth what I give you - and you will eat it. Might be a meatball sub it might not. Oooooo

being a paid pizza driver is infinitely superior to being a doordash clown.
You get an hourly wage (low), but you get all the perks of tips plus you can insure the quality and accuracy of your food before sending it out so that you can get more and better tips. The delivery areas are optimized, and everyone is working for the same team.

Every doordash driver is a pizza man who wouldn't make it in the game.

I genuinely didn't mean to mock although I understand why it could've come off that way. The sentence I just quoted made me burst out laughing (i.e. at how much conviction a pizza man could have) - it's just a silly career. But don't mind my mania; I can't really relate to menial jobs so I find them all funny when a real person talks about them.

Its true. Being a pizza man is the lowest rung of society. But if you are smart you can pull $100 per night in tips and stuff it in a box. Especially on weekends.

Doordash hobbiests might make more, but they have no training in food handling, customer service, or sales. And they don't get paid an hourly wage on top of the insane tips that good drivers make.

As a side hustle, its fine. But some people cling to it instead of getting a real job with benefits, etc.

The implication is that your food will not be delivered in a timely manner. If you tip at least $3-4 you'll get your food in under a half hour. If you don't tip, it can easily sit for over an hour because no one wants to accept your order.

Also if you don't tip, it's more likely that when your order finally is accepted, it's by a drug addicted drive who is more likely to eat or spit in your food.

Keep in mind none of these food delivery companies are profitable. Tips are the only reason why drivers actually do the job. Without tips, a typical doordash order only pays $2-2.50 to the driver, and that's even if they're driving 10 or 15 miles

>> No.50674206

the amount of times I have had to explain to people that nobody controls the drivers and they could be doing god knows what with their food is astounding.

Doordash people rarely speak english, they never check the orders or ask any questions about drinks, etc, they just shove a phone in your face and even then they will bail out before the food is ready because a good delivery popped up or they need to send some money to mexico.

I can respect that.
The big problem comes from uncle Jerry ordering for 30 people, multiple times a week, and flooding the system with orders that fuck everything up. I call these inorganic orders. People who otherwise wouldn't come to you are now able to find you and have food delivered from your restaurant. The technology is too pervasive.

People who might have ordered a pizza or maybe even cooked something 10 years ago are now so hooked on instant food delivery that they are close to completely shorting out the capacity of small to mid sized restaurants to provide decent customer serivce.

The current acceptable tip is 8 dollars or 2 dollars per every mile the driver has to go from the restaurant to your house. Whichever is higher.

Anything less you should feel embarrassed. If you can’t afford to tip that you probably can’t afford to be using a premium delivery service.

sounds like you only order from big chains and fast food restaurants, which is smart. As a former Dasher, McDonald's had by far the best to-go system. Every order was stapled with stickers and drinks inside. Unfortunately, a lot of places aren't like that. Last time I was dashing, Taco Bell would still hand out drinks individually, and sometimes wouldn't include a sticker on the bag, never staples.

If you ordered from a mom and pop restaurant, they almost never staple the bags or even have the stickers. It's really up the restaurant.

That being said, there are some savvy and deranged driver's who keep staplers and staple removers in their car, and others who have rolls of stickers. Sometimes these people will absolutely eat some of your fries or other food. Probably less than 5% of drivers would ever do that, but it does happen.
