I just got to know that moass is inevitable, but infinitely far away.
They can kick the can indefinitely unless it's actually triggered. Even medium crashes are manageable though, so even something as Evergrande (without the life support fuckery) wouldn't help. The only things that will force their hand are insane and sudden buying pressure from non arbitrage sources like millions of calls being exercised instead of cash settled, share recalls, material dividends with no assignable value or really DRSing a sizable chunk above the float.
I bet RC or GS are planning for one of those to happen, but until then there is no reason to fret over literally anything else. Locking up shares obviously helps reaching a higher squeeze. A bank depot with no lending is sufficient, but DRS is a little better, for the sole reason of book shares not falling under bankruptcy collateral.
I can't tell you my source since any meaningful proof would uncover them.
I know larp, sneed whatever but I can at least say how moass will most likely behave. Surprisingly due to T+2 settlement, it will from the day is actually triggered climb 2 days rather steeply then crash a little in AH, gets down a little further for a few hours (due to international settlements) only to pick up the climb again, rinse and repeat until, depending on the trigger actually, either all longs are delivered or all liquidated shorts are closed. Though even a squeeze based on delivering longs or their obligations (like an NFT dividend) should also trigger a liquidation squeeze. Unless of course literally all big player waive margin requirements. Hope it helps.

I'm not 100% sure myself, but I think a "share dividend" is literally making new shares and then delivering them to people who already have shares. The shares they already have didn't go anywhere. A stock split means all the shares that already existed were broken apart. They didn't "issue" more shares, they just made every 1 share into 2.
