Holy shit is buying a house right now a good idea or not? Every single thread about it here is filled with retards arguing about rentoids, landchads, landcucks, and rentlords. I just keep imagining being that retard who bought a Detroit house at the top and is now upside down like 400k because of it.

Not that even owning as house is possible. You just get raped more and more by the rent the government requires you to pay, or they will seize "your" property with police power.

I already have a house that I bought in 2017 and am sitting on major profit, but I want a bigger house now that I work from home and have two kids. Is it smart to do that? Thing is, I really can’t afford a higher monthly mortgage expense and I have a super low interest rate currently. I just don’t see any way I could get a bigger house and not end up with a higher mortgage payment unless I moved to a rural area or bought an older house that needs a lot of work.
