Yea except you ave forgotten 2 major points.
1. They are putting another 50 mill tokens into circulation. This is going to be used for the 5% APY, so really it’s not that different from normal defi inflationary tokens (right now) as the payment to stakers isn’t really profit from utilisation it’s just team token distribution.

2. Staking is going to be so basic and have such small collateral per smart contract at the beginning, imagine how bearish people will be when they see some cum coin being the lead innovator using staking collateral for a SC that makes sure they are collaterally guaranteed a log of shit will flush on time

But staking literally can’t be priced in because it has a direct effect on the tokenomics. It’s not just news that you speculate on, it will directly reduce the circulating supply, and reward stakers. Look at another way, look how many rubes got wrecked by cefi and bancor just because they couldn’t wait for link staking to earn apy, the demand is there on retail, it’s just a matter of chainlink establishing a dominant enough network effect that nodes are profitable enough, which takes years.

I think we may not see the pumps we got during the bull run, but we could get a slow grind instead when the price slowly goes up.
The real problem is that the Chainlink network is still in its infancy and it needs to grow a lot more to become profitable.

Everything relies on CCIP bringing real use to the crypto world.
My expectation is that the 50 million tokens they use to start the new features will be enough to bring enough real use to require a lot less subsidizing to the network and that L2 solutions will finally scale properly.

After all this time I don't know what to expect.
I think the release of staking and CCIP mean that we are finally entering the phase where Chainlink can grow and be self sustaining without the crypto ponzi.
But I don't know what integrations are in store until Q1 of 2023 and how much business profit it will bring.
