50281957 No.50281957 [Reply] [Original]

Or anything similar? I was looking at renting a office to run my part time online business and trade crypto. Its 450pm for a shoe sizes box office in my town. Thats not including business rates another 150pm then utilities maybe another 100pm. 650pm for a shoe box office. Surely i could live comfy here and sit on a beach all day and easily surive on 650pm? Has anyone traveled abroad to work remote, any downfalls?. This seems pretty comfy in my head

I am yet to go to Bali however a lot of friends have lived and worked there and rate it pretty highly.

It's pretty westernised now in terms of food, stores, bars etc..

Tbh it would probably be a really good move for anyone wanting to do something different in a pretty epic location and potentially have a very successful business.

Bali is a good option if you are vaxxed but if you are vaxxed, you are going to die so it's a better place for your last vacation than a place to be a digital nomad. Yes, and they own all the toll highways in Luzon/Manila - NLEX, SLEX, TPLEX, CAVITEX -

>So the beer company owns the highways in Manila?
Yes.

They also do other infrastructure stuff, water pipes (with lead lol) and more buildings w/ Ayala Corp and SM corp and all this MANILA/LUZON money will not touch MINDINAO because they don't have the same kickbacks/corruption scenario that they have back "home.

Part of that is because Mindinao is partly muslim, partly, the other half is that shit really is personalized, you piss someone off they will just take your head or shoot you.

>Last president Duterte is from Davao.
Davao is mindinao.
Duterte and his biker gang buddies, on 300-600cc bikes (yes, seriously, only lately did they get some harley davidsons that exceeded 1000cc/1 liter LOL) and part of his accession into governor and political was handling petty crime/cartels by just shooting them and taking over their business and streamlining it.

That's why in the beginning of 2016, there was the red wave within Manila where you could shoot a drug addict, plant shabu and get away with it - that was always the case/happening in MINDINAO.

>but yeah I'm a schizo boomer.

Meant to expand, you could plant *shabu* or drugs on anyone, and they would've been handeled as a drug pusher via PDEA. Yeah it's the DEA, but the P means Philippines, lol.

You still can, but they're investigated a bit more now in Luzon. Visayas and Mindano that shit still flies and more.

God, I miss me being young and in Philippine days. Shit is much more reserve and calmer in Indonesia. I can go back whenever I want, but Manila/The country in general has gotten worst, and, well there's just a level of depravity and desperation that exists now in the PH that doesn't in elsewhere in Asia.

If you can buy PR, it's *easy* to migrate.

You can also be sponsered by a job to SG by one a many run by night possibly visa scam mills, they work for most of SEA, and could work with you too if you don't mind 20-30K sunk cost for that. Get on facebook and look up singapore visas and there you go - I know 100% this is possible from grapevine conversations.

But the vax, boosters and mandatory reporting as a foreigner are what makes SG a shit place to be.

Taiwan is much easier to Get PR via their Gold Card program and much better country overall, provided China doesn't take it over.

Gold card in TW?
>have over 100k USD in annual income
>reported on W2 taxes, must submit taxes
>must file under economic visa
>pay $200 filing fee
>granted 5yr gold card in 3 weeks.

That's it, you can even lie about your income, just file your taxes in USA as exceeding 100k and pay "taxes" on that, or have deducitons minmizing/zeroing your tax liability and you get a Taiwan gold card.

They're handing them out like free candy to please the USA/amass USA citizens just in case China wants to take over.

Once you have TW gold card, you can under HK and CN. :)

Which IMO is 100% better than any stupid Singapore scenario, atleast TW/HK/CN does not lie about surveillance.

none, doing drugs in bali is a huge no no. but if you ever show up, the palce to score them are the gay clubs. Ironic, gay clubs exist on a hindu island in a fucking islam country - but that's bali.

I just get excited talking about the PH. I feel like it's forbidden knowledge. Most of the Filipinos I talk to, online, or in PH have no idea how their country works.

Or even been outside of their hometown.
Or done anything.

So I get giddy about it. It's the first country I also traveled too where I landed knowing nothing, and left knowing so much *with* much more money in my pocket.

There's this stupid joke you see everywhere on the nomad/expat forums "to be a millionare in the philippines, start out with 3 million dollars" or such.

And while that reflects the case for expats 99% of the time, I'm somehow in the last group - where, I had my fun, I had my profit, I learned how it all works and still can not fathom how people don't see it all.

It's been PR since 2018, you can go on the bali forums/groups on facebook - the tourism of bali board =/= is not the federal indonesia government. Only imigrasi can create new type of visas, not a government bali tourism board.

The article is conflating "want" and "intent" as "will" and "shall" and it's very common for most of the west articles about shit in Indonesia.

Especially because Indonesia = Bahsa indonesia.
In bali it's balinese.

So it's literally 3 languages, that are used, and most government proceedings should be done in the official country language of bahsa indo, but they probably did it in balinese and then bahasa indo translation and then a shit shitter english translation.

it's nothingburger, and it is not *new.* it's just bali in titles, gets huge clikbait from international audiences and people that can $$$.

if everyone wants to sleep on belize that's find by me, but realize in my researching it is the only zero capital gains tax, dual intent, zero visa processing, no vax country out there. That means you literally just walk in and stay for however long you want. After 6 months youre a legal resident for tax purposes, after 12 months you get your residency papers and can become a citizen later. No declaring intent, no investment, no anything, just show up and say im here for good.

kek shut the fuck up retard.
I've been there countless times. The times of kidnappings is long gone. Those subhumans are six feet below.
And it wasn't really a huge risk to begin with. You are literally more likely to get abducted and trafficked in New York than for the past 10 years in Mindanao as a white person.

You'd be right about a decade ago, but nowadays the peace and order situation there is vastly different.

Go you will love it most fun place on earth. It’s starting to get too westernised in some areas but still wild enough for now. Might do this myself once my dog passes away.

Anon, I--

I don't want to be a legal resident.
I don't want to pay taxes to Belize.
I'm 100% okay with sleeping on belize.

Zero capital gains is not impossible in the USA, or Singapore (why it's popular) but it is rare in much of the world - it depends how it's counted as income. In USA, you need to have fun w/ Pureto Rico .

but

>>50286455
Pureto Rico is shit, spanish is a requirement to get good pricing and it's pricy to not pricy, if by coast, pricy, if inland, not pricy but you will hear shit music all the time and be marginally unsafe.

Most of the well off Pureto Ricans will be in the USA, or will be in gated communities w/ security gards near the water.

PR is good for tax evasion and that's it. Everything else about it, kinda sucked.

And don't even get me started on Guam and the Jones Act.

Man, maybe I am a boomer.

Started businesses, trusted pinoys I fucked, never let them meet. Total social media shut down - bribed the right people, easy to get business licnse from barangay and city.

Lots of it is really simple shit, but over 7 years, I left with a profit, no baggage/kids (though I wish I got one or two preg) most of my business included real estate, including development (helps with family of the women is in construction - easy to get land in a corporation, and develop and work relationships w/ the banks and scuh to sell it or wholesale to a bigger land developer.)

Then the ecomm explosion, arbitrage opportunity, labor is cheap in both. Easy to corner market and build out. You want to hire heavy on admin assistants and work out workflow, filipinos can't think but they can follow directions and orders.

Yes, I had lawyers work on some of the finer legal points, and yes I'm not going into full detail because I know I can be doxed with what I said - but basically, 300k investment turned to several million, in dollars and proper withdrawal of revenue. No I don't have to work, yes would've been easier if I kept bitcoin.

Yeah, okay buddy - I'm sure with a marcos presidency it's all nice and calm--

But most of my PH adventures did happen a decade ago too, NPA was a real threat, and still is in many rural parts. There's also the whole fun of Abu Sayef/MILF and Marawi. That was fun. I had a photo of the I <3 Marawi before it was shot up and after, but lazy to dig it up, you can probably find it on google.

Ph is fun because it's safety not guaranteed, but after a while it gets old because it's nice to wake up in the morning and the only worry you have is what to have for breakfast/who the fuck, vs who did I fuck over last night, and making sure the gun is still under the pillow/did the security guard kuya really stay up all night.

Actually, I do wonder how a marcos presidency will be in the PH. Most of my success was due to Duterte taking over, peaceful handover and most increase in social/middle class wealth since the 1970's in PH.

IDK PH government/country to me is an eningma, I can go on and on it's amazing how disorganized and mismanaged a country can be. I litereally walked in and made friends with gov officials across different agencies by just asking them for lunch and saying I was doing a documentary/wanting to learn. They were happy that someone cared.

The income has to come from non-US sources IIRC eg you’d need to set up a foreign company - if American all still needs to be reported to the IRS generally even if it isn’t actually taxable

it takes a certain kind of mindset to even be able to wfh and actually work
a lot of normies would just totally neglect their work and sit on a beach all day
just look at how many want to go back to work because of this
from the moment work from "home" started i saw it as a chance to work from anywhere and i was - "home" just means wifi
