To get hired somewhere you need:

>materials science
And at least one of
>magnetic particle course
>ultrasonic course
>liquid penetrant course
Each course is one week long and in total, it could run you about $10k. Plus these courses are only taught a few times a year. Alternatively, you could do a 6month - 1 year program in Newfoundland that covers all of this. THEN, you’ve gotta get some experience and do the certification exams in magnetic particle, etc. then you basically have a license to print money and sit around, unionized, plus pension. No lie. I wish I knew about this sooner.

You learn it over the course of the week long math course. They will teach you what you need to know. I took a 2 year welding engineering program that included inspection in the curriculum. I didn’t take the week long math course, I just challenged the math test and passed it cuz we did much more difficult math in college. I remember it being EZ PZ tho. It’s all multiple choice and I didn’t even use the calculator
