Just check any block, 99% of the money miners make is subsidy ie currently 6.25 coins. Long-term either tx cost must become really expensive so it's worth for miners, or it must continue to be possible to pay in FIAT as btc gets more valuable against it, so even very small btc reward would be big dolla. the problem is when btc is the currency itself, the fee reward is going to be so small miners wont be able to sustain. BSV afaik is the only chain that mined a block where the fees added up to more than the 6.25 coins subsidy - however when not used enough it's the same as in majority of reward is subsidy.

I suppose if the gold meme works out it could be fine, yes. The issue is that anyone who knows that we had about 30-40% inflation between 2018 and 2021 will realise that we are about that amount below the previous ATH, which was kind of a promised bottom for the store of value / digital gold meme.

Either way, I think there's only one single way for BTC to die and that is CSW / SN. Otherwise we'd just keep finding new suckers to be quite frank, the idiots come back with new wagie dollars every 4 years like clockwork.
