What I do is the following:

I have a TV antenna for things that are only on TV, like jeopardy (I can't stream illegally because of my job)

I listen to audio books from my local library. They have an app that lets me download them, it's just as good as audible but free.

On top of that I have a YouTube premium account with some friends for a few dollars a month and a Netflix sub.

Financial "news", commentary, etc. is an almost completely fictional world unto itself.

If you read 10-Ks or financial statements, it is liek a press release with numbers instead of words.

Seriously, the entire financial system is replete with claims that have no basis in fact. There are disclaimers all over the place but few realize that what it means is, and what you should know, is that the theorizing and opinions are endless, everyone has them, but none of it is empirical except historical facts, and even then, what can you really trust about a balance sheet these days with Adjusted EBIDTA, etc.

Everything in the financial press is garbage. Even the most seasoned economists can't accurately describe what is going on, and the best of them are utter skeptics for a reason.

Used to be a major podcast listener going back to 2009.
Then one day in 2021 I stopped, all of them.
All the podcasts, no matter how picky you are with them are feeding you a way of thinking, they're not informing you, they're just pumping you up with their POV, their data, their bullshit. I moved on to radio recordings of shows done in the 50s and 60s and realized how little things have changed. Instead of going for financial info or other information type podcasts, go for something that isnt constrained by the context of our times, something that offers you a broader lens to which information of today can make sense going back a hundred years. History and story based shows.
You can do much better on your own, you can dedicate some time to reading.

I mean I believe Erik has a pretty strong background in computers, so I feel like he gets it more than most. I believe a lot of his interest in the sector is more about the finality and the trustlessness of the whole sector, while acknowledging that "no, Bitcoin is not going to overthrow the federal government". The fact that you can settle complex financial transactions in a short timeframe for cheap is useful technology and while it may not replace the dollar, it does stand to benefit those willing to adopt it rather than shun it. Of course they're the ones who also put the nightmare of "silicon valley decentralized currency" into my brain like Google coin or Facebookcoin.

If you keep yourself untainted as much as you can to “information” you end up better being able to distinguish between fact and fiction, between pov and reality, you also become unpoluted of politics and other stresses of modernity.
