Why buy silver over gold? Something like 5% of the total supply of silver is mined every year. It's relatively abundant in the earth compared to other PMs. That means if the price goes up, it'll just encourage more people to extract it out of the earth to dump it on the market. As opposed to gold, if the price spikes then production will only go up a bit because there's only so much to mine.

So why silver? Is it just because it is cheaper per ounce? So you can feel richer because you have more ounces of something? Surely that can't be the reason.

you fags don't understand what silver is. It's a store of value. The dollar could/will go to 0 at some point. Silver will still be worth something. All of you lazy fucks think we're trying to flip silver in the short term for profit, when really it's just insurance against currency failure for the long term.

>> No.50098025

You don't buy physical silver as an investment. It is a hedge against inflation but not when the dollar is gaining strength.

You buy physical silver to protect against major macro shifts that can affect the current use. Currently silver is something like 35% electronics 5% jewelry 10% photography 25% other and 25% as currency.

You hold physical silver when you can foresee potential shifts in that pie of usage. I can very easily see an EMP, pole shift, War, power grid failure, hyperinflation, etc as a possibility in the next 5 years. If market conditions change to where that usage is distributed to say 95% currency and 5% jewelry then you'll be damn glad you had a stack of silver.

Isn't this the result of the 3rd world war?
The dollar reserve currency is putting up its last fight facing commodity based currencies.
They increased the interest to make everyone start the DXY going up ponzi and make them think it this was the place to be.
The reason gold and silver and every commodity including cryptos are going down is because they are what's backing the future reserve currencies.
This looks more like something done by the FED to make people give up on their real investments out of fear to buy the real $ ponzi.

However on the opposite side of this manipulation you have the new emerging empires.
They don't have to go all in on gold and silver, they can just bleed them of the real things slowly and not the paper until they are completely dry and then create a new price mechanism without derivatives and instantly stop the ponzi.

The actual cost to buy one ounce hasn’t moved at all. It’s like like $27 give or take. In 2020 you could buy an ounce for 99 cents over spot price, and now it’s like 7 dollars over spot price. Someone desperately wants to pretend like inflation isn’t a big deal, but the fact that this manipulation is happening is the writing on the wall. Buy.

The silver (((fud))) is reaching levels who shouldn't be possible kek.
Extremely bullish. Glad i just bought more, and will continue to put 100% of my capital into physical silver.

My only regret is not having more fiat toilet paper to trade for precious metals. This truly feel like a steal each time.

Minimum wages don't mean anything when the currencies are mid-collapse. Depending on how the governments of the world react to the coming 'even greater' depression, some currencies could flat out disappear.

Wow, a brand new asset class went up a lot. So amazing. How has it performed in the last year? How much more gains for bitcoin in the future? Looks like most of the big gains are in the past as bitcoin starts to mature. No more 6000% gains. Just lots of bagholders hoping for it to go back up to break even.

The paper price of silver is determined by the SLV. It is a claim on nothing. So naturally the price is destined to go to zero just like how stablecoins in crypto are not backed by USD fully and are basically worthless if a significant amount of people choose to redeem. If miners and bullion dealers are stupid enough to sell Silver for the spot price determined by SLV and the bullion banks it is a buying opportunity.
