it's not even deflationary when you consider that it's fungible with most other established POW-based cryptos, and given the competitive nature of mining and its limited tx throughput, there's little incentive to pay the sort of outrageous mining fees that will eventually come about as the block reward decreases as opposed to simply using another currency. even if you have faith in the pow model itself, this holds true.
