I flip stuff on eBay and Facebook marketplace. I don’t take it seriously tho and bring in about 200 a month of profit. With eBay taking more, usps charging more, and all estate sales being ran by companies that charge retail prices it’s been harder.

Do you live near a major city? If yes, see if there are market research companies that pay people to do studies. I participate in a enough studies in Atlanta to average about $300 a month. It's for stupid shit like testing out fast food, mixed alcohol, and soda. Each study only takes 15 to 45 minutes.

Any advice you can give someone trying to get out of single digit viewer hell?

I have a relative in his early 30s and he's been trying for the past 4 months, streaming every sunday for 4 hours, and usually puts out 2-3 youtube videos a week. Works moving furniture during the week.
Mostly gets 20-30 views on his youtube videos, with a few random ones that got picked up by the algorithm, one went to 6.7k and another to 800.
His content is all over the place, he does videos where he just talks about random shit going on like a new game announcement, or an event like the youtube creator crash, or he just talks up some random mid-tier creators that he likes, or he'll upload sped-up drawings he's done, or cooking videos.
He's been streaming chrono cross consistently for the past few months now. Typically only gets 2-3 viewers from people he knows though.
He can't get more than something like 12 followers on twitch, and has less than 100 subscribers on youtube.

Most of it is generally unrefined content, he stumbles over his words often while streaming, but puts in the effort of doing different character's voices and he does drawings of all of them.
I don't see how he can build an audience without focusing on a niche or something focused to grow from and when I brought it up and suggested some things like focusing on 1 niche community, at least for a short while to build an audience, he just said some cope about how he's just doing it for fun, and that any money he gets would just be a bonus, but I can tell the lack of growth after putting in effort for months is having an affect on him. He messaged me all excited when one of his videos got 100 views and he combs over the analytics constantly, so he clearly cares about it.

I'm not a streamer so idk if anything I said is even good advice, maybe it's better to just leave it but it hurts to see family spin their wheels and getting hurt when they don't see results.
