he knows if the crypto markets became more regulated and more stable so shit like luna didn't happen that he'd be in a safer position with his trove of BTC that he's sitting on. He's thinking long term. So no. The big players who already hold billions of crypto want regulation so they don't have to account for random factors.

Regulation is required for any further adoption. The anti regulation people have already heard of crypto and made a decision to either buy or reject the asset class. To get further adoption new buyers all want assurances about it not being banned, taxed, restricted, or whatever. It's not that it's a good thing its just that we will stall out on adoption until we either wake those people up or regulate. Waking all the sheep up could take decades.

They unironically believe they're going to regulate everything except for Bitcoin I guess. I guarantee, if crypto regulations come, there is going to be no "100k eoy", "50k eoy", or even 1k eoy. They aren't going to allow even the couple of normal people smart enough to invest to gain that kind of wealth. The fact they are pearl clutching over crypto being a funding source for terrorism and "white supremacy" should throw red flags for any kind of regulation

I listen to some jew talking about why regulation would be good a thing
It would allow big money (pension, funds etc..) to legally be able to park money in crypto
They could say stuff like I want to allocate 0.5% to btc, so when it goes down they buy, when it goes up they sell
Essentially, it would allow trillions to flow into crypto, but would also make it a lot less speculative
Im kinda meh about the whole thing, but if you dont like you can jst move on to other chains

>the WHOLE point of crypto is to DECENTRALIZE the banking system,
If you eliminated crypto, the current system is already "decentralized" though. This isn't me defending the current system, as I am aware there are many problems that need to be addressed, but I think it's disingenuous to say that crypto is some magical solution to finance.

The problem is that King Boomercoin doesn't understand crypto at all. What does "regulation" even mean? It's nonsensical, because in reality it's impossible to truly regulate the broader market. The most that the government could possibly do is require that all coins register with an agency in order to be listed on traditional exchanges that operate in their country, so that only government approved cryptos can be traded. Which won't do anything to stop Luna and other pump and dump scams because then all the trading for those will just move to DEXs. And it's impossible for them to enforce regulations against a DEX.

MAYBE they could force Amazon or whatever hosting service they use to shut down the front end, but it's easy to rehost the front end somewhere they can't get to, like in another country or even on a web 3.0 cloud service like ICP.

I'm not saying you're retarded if you don't want regulation. I'm saying the upside of regulation is institutional money and stability.
If you want crypto to remain the highly speculative wild west, obviously your priority is no regulation. But if governments don't go down the path of regulation, it will be criminalisation.
Governments will get involved. It's just about how.
