I don't do shit at home or the office now. I figured I'd be more productive back in the office but I just stare at the wall or gossip with other people. The only downside is I spend like $20 a day in gas and goyslop for lunch.

Don't get me wrong there's a lot of stuff I should be doing but nobody else outside of one or two people are really doing what they're supposed to either anymore.

worked from home most of my professional career and I can tell you right now that once you become disciplined, working from home is way more efficient than in an office. When I worked in an office, half of my day was spent talking to others or having to listen to others talk to each other. Your whole argument falls down when Elon Musk tells you to go back into the fucking office. And he is the last person to give a fuck about office formalities and bureaucracy, but if even that guy tells you its more efficient to be at the office for most people, then you bet your ass is not some kind of resistance to tech. Unless, of course, you have some kind of hidden data from Tesla that you know and Musk ignores.

DUDE i just LOVE the hustle and bustle of the open office, it’s so DYNAMIC and makes me feel like i’m in one of my favourite TV SHOWS. you should totally come on down to my half-desk, it’s got MODIFIABLE HEIGHT and everything, we can crack open a nice lukewarm watercooler or three and get crazy watching our RSUs vest! and dude, dude, DUDE, we have GOTTA go down to the gameroom- listen here, right, it’s a BREAKROOM where us ADULTS who do WAGING can go CAFFEINATE. BUT!!!! it’s also a GAME ROOM like when we were kids, so we can play awesome TABLE GAMES, without dumb kids bothering us. speaking of which megan and i have finally decided to tie the knot- literally -we’re both getting work-engaged tomorrow at only window, that way she can workcuck me when we both go home at 10 pm on WEEKDAYS. i’m fuckin JACKED man, i’m gonna SLAM this biodegradable plastic cup of water and pop open another one!!!

I feel the same way. Corporate culture exists to break you. Your awkward encounters with employees are made less so if you consume Netflix, sports, pop culture and other stupid shit.
As stupid and alienating as it sounds, I believe your "peers" are people you have to be very careful around. If you acquiesce to fit in, to find common ground, etc, you end up losing yourself to American consumerist culture. You have to be very careful in what you consume and be wary of just how stupid and evil it all is.
