I have no inclination to ever retire. But I do want to change my job at some point.

Anyway, what’s up with the retirement idea for people in their 20s? You just get fat, lazy and depressed.

So I can do what I want with my own time and actually live my life instead of wasting it wageslaving. You wouldn't understand because you have low IQ and zero goals in life.

You can work on things you want to work on, your own business, trading, whatever.

You have complete freedom with your time. Its living life on your terms rather than what some company dictates. Why is that not obvious?

I "retired" but I run my own businesses. I can't imagine how empty life would be if I didn't have actual challenges and goals.

I don't want to tie myself to an organization (my current employer is the army) just so I can guarantee food, housing, and a little spending money. I want to retire from work, but not from living. I want to go wander around in the Himalayas, or do social work, with income for funding, food, lodging coming passively from my investments. I have moral qualms with most nonprofit orgs, and am well on my way to funding myself. At 21 I have saved/accumulated 60,000 in liquid assets.

Making it to me is to have the freedom to explore my creative side. Finish another album. Film another movie. Things I had time for when I was a NEET. Or expand on a business. I want to keep working but on my own ideas. A fully paid off property and safety net stops anything from getting in my way. Thankfully I got to experience all of this is in my early 20s as a NEET. It was glorious.

I think most just want to be able to quit their "job" or change profession anytime it is better for self fulfilment. If you are dependent on an employer for some reason, who in turn could abuse you (if he goes there is another question), you are mentally a slave.
tl;dr it is all bout switching professions without hazzle.

Yeah they all want to watch anime and jerk off 24/7 honestly and call themselves entrepreneurs or traders, it’s fucking dumb. I get wanting your own time, but so many of the interesting industries and roles with access to a lot of the technical infrastructure you can learn from you need to wagie to access. I guarantee you the “businesses” and shit they spend their time on are entry level consumer garbage or franchises, they are not making corporations that are changing an industry.

If I retired I would just go to the gym every day, trade, read up on stocks and maybe work on a project if I feel like it.

So basically what I do now but I would have an extra 40-60 hours to do it.

When I make it, I'm going to retire, but it will be a retirement from wageslavery. I will train my body and mind every day with weightlifting and running as well as reading and studying subjects of interest. I will have crops to tend and other responsibilities for keeping up my homestead. The "work" I do will probably be limited to actively managing my investments and certain charitable work, such as liberating occupied Palestine for example. A lot of my time will be spent undoing a lot of the societal corruption that's been done to the West.

its not really retirement people want but the choice to stop working when they feel burned out. most people work jobs they dont like for people they cant stand. on top of that they see people living much better lives doing less and making more.

in reality we want the ability to work on things we enjoy and challenge ourselves. but by being rich and retired, i cant get a job at NASA. i need skills etc. you should always be looking to get skills for the life you want to live. not aim for retirement

>> No.49542272

Retirement is you doing something you want to do or if you want to kick back at home doing shit and spending time with family and not doing something cause you "have" to do it. Your working now to pay your bills. Yes you might enjoy it but still you must do it if you want to survive. V.S retirement; Do I work this part time job or not. It doesn't mater if you say no. Cause it won't hurt you financially. Nice feeling to when you get close to retirement and going into work feels so much better cause you know your days of having to go there are numbered. Your boss/co-workers,etc give you shit? Oh well, 5 more days and I'm gone baby type feeling.
