Price gouging on consumer products is acting like a variable rate mortage. With the extra costs just going towards israeli shipping companies rather than banks. The tightening of consumer's wallet is just the same. But its easier to cut spending on normal goods than mortgages. So unless the Fed makes an announcement they want people to lose their jobs we're fine.
