The use cases are endless. This technology will affect nearly every place in society where there is a contract, a payment, or trust. For example one of the primary functions of government is to enforce contracts. What happens to government when that responsibility is largely taken from them? What happens when people realize that we don't need to trust a politician to execute our will when we can vote on-chain for what we want? What happens when services like Uber, Doordash, etc are competing with dapp versions of those services which don't charge fees beyond the cost of the smart contract execution? There's going to be a lot of garbage cleared away. There's going to be a great race between people who want to create a better world with this technology and people who want to use this technology to control and gain power over others.
