Why do they need to innovate? Stakeholder capitalism will impose it will on the subject. They already have all the money and even if they fuck up they will get bail outs.

Did slaves get to choose which part of the field they worked in? Do dogs dictate to the owner when they will be walked.

>on a board dedicated to the largest technological innovation in 50 years
>ahhhh where’s my technological innovation

I know it’s not as exciting as flying cars or whatever but for better or for worse we have created a world which revolves around data and currently exist in a place where highly sensitive data is prone to mass abuse and manipulation. Blockchain solves one of the scariest problems of a data dependent society. It is kind of a big deal.

for real humans the pendulum is swinging back toward naïve personal relationships and not giving a fuck about minmaxing. everything is a solved game at this point, so the only authentic move is to not care and do unpredictable human stuff with no goal orientation.

In my grand old age of 32, I can remember a time when kids didn't have phones and had to resort to that disgusting activity of physical play to pass the time. Kids are running around with smartphones now and nobody blinks an eye. This is absolutely mindboggling to me.
I'm not sure what technological innovation you want to see. We're probably going to get affordable robot assistants within the next 10 years. But any faster and a person that went to jail for 5 years might as well kill himself when he gets out because there's no way he's adjusting.

Yeah lets wait until it actually works at scale. Two more weeks until ETH fees go down

This happened in 00s anon. 10s were incredibly stale technology wise. I guess we've started using drones a lot but they're only really useful for war and filming shit so far

Don't discount that. We can see it in action right now. The ability to film shit without your physical presence being anywhere near AND from the sky has been tremendous for war footage.
I mean take digital storage. We went from floppy disks to SSDs. I closed my eyes and suddenly an SSD the size of two fingers called an M.2 is the standard now. Apparently VR becoming a commercially-viable thing in the 10s isn't impressive to you either.
I don't know, to me, we're really moving fast.
