Why do chuds love blimps so much? Not only are they very dangerous, but also slow and the cargo/passenger space is so fucking small compared to the rest of its body

Gee anon, idk.
It's not like the peaceniks don't like them either. They promise very fuel efficient travel for distance and have comparatively low infrastructure costs to traditional winged aircraft (or so the proponents claim, I'm kind of skeptical).

Water vapor would probably be more economical, if you can prevent the vapor from condensing.

Also, experiment with various composite materials to create a tank (hull) strong enough to withstand vacuum and create a vacuum ship

Have they figured out how to handle them in adverse weather? Genuine question: I had a flight land in the middle of a thunderstorm when I was younger and I genuinely don't see how an aircraft relying on buoyancy would be able to handle the same situation.
If the modern world wasn't so oriented around scheduling absolutely everything down to the quarter hour I probably wouldn't even think about it, but the technology seems like it would be more prone to delays than our current options.

Airships are not blimps.
And planes don't even take off, or make emergency landings, when there's even the slightest bit of bad weather.
The only reason planes are popular is because of oil. That's all.
Besides, you shouldn't need to schedule so hard if you can afford airships or rides in them.

>> No.49354569

>>49351647
They can travel around 100mph, can remain stationary, and they can lift a whole lot more than a traditional plane. All without burning tons of fuel. They don't really need a runway either. The problem is that hydrogen can't be used as a lifting gas legally.

Im not an engineer/chemist but hydrogen is only flammable when mixed with oxygen and an ignition source. The hindendburg gets a bad wrap but most of the people on board survived. Meanwhile we have planes drop out of the sky or slide across the ground drenching people in kerosene and nobody bats an eye.

I think the airship needs to be revisited.
