High school friend vs me

Me:
- went to school
- finished Bachelor in Computer science
- graduated, try to find job, no job cuz no experience and recession = harder hiring requirements
-unemployed about to apply to restaurant

Friend:
- worked in McDonald’s for a few months after not going to college
- switched to IT via boot camp
- currently senior tech lead

WHY WHY I FOLLOWED EVERHTHING AND DID EVERYTHING RIGHT WHY WHY

Now I’m 40k in debt

Have you ever considered just lying on a resume? Or sent some code you have written? Or talked to a recruiting agency? Or do you just expect a job to just fall into your lap?

Are the IT boot camps legit? I hate my factory job and want to kill myself it's so bad. Is this a valid option to get out of hell?

Find a bootcamp that offers internship or job placement.

WTF you have a degree in comp sci and can't find a job? Work remotely writing plugins for companies that use open source platforms. Then apply to cities and school boards because they like that kind of thing. These jobs tend to be recession proof and hard to get fired from once you make friends in the bureaucracy.

Mate, no one cares that you struggled through calc 2 and Chegged all your code for 4 years. If you were too stupid to do summer internships then you deserve to work at Applebee's.
