Got any advice for how to explain away three years of unemployment in a job interview or even a resume? I don't want to have to admit I've been schizo the whole time since it would probably only hurt my opportunities. My condition seems stable and I want to get off my lazy ass and work but so far I've not even gotten a call-back I suppose all my credentials are just being sucked away by this suspicious black-hole of NEETdom.

Say you started a business. Spend a week or so developing the framework of it, explaining what worked and didn't work, your successes etc.

Bonus points for making it a business related to what you're applying for, just make sure you know your shit.

I thought about that but wouldn't they expect it to have some kind of online presence? Unless you mean I should spend a week forging documents about the business like some kind of George Costanza wannabe sociopath.

They don't care that much. You can say it was a failure and you didn't have the money to sustain it, then mention the lessons you learned (in relation to the things you should know for the position you're applying for)

what kinda job you applying for anyway?

Say you were self-employed at that time, make up a business, make a quick website/portfolio. Say you were a wedding photographer or something they would really care to dig into. Tell them, you enjoyed your creative sabbatical but realized you'd rather contribute to a company rather than work for yourself.

at the moment just whatever as long as it can allow for some lateral movement (so preferably a small business) and involves at least some level of skill.

I don't know, that sounds like the kind of business with a huge online presence where you'd probably at least have a facebook page to show off your portfolio. I would expect some sort of broker or agent would be a better cover story. There are a lot of useless assholes who just "coordinate" people and don't really need to have much of a brand themselves (my brother is one).

dude idkf, what do you know about? what do you really know about? if you know about the dark web, just say you hosted a darkweb domain for academic journals and made passive income off donations.

One of the easiest things is to just say you went freelance and did odd small things here and there. Nothing important or interesting enough to put in a portfolio. Bonus if you have some sort of project you've been working on in that time.

Well I am a reasonably notorious board game designer. I'd rather protect my identity and not drop my name here but maybe I could pretend my hobby in designing and self-publishing board games was a vocation?

how do I get into investing with 0 liquidity? Maybe I'll consider that once I've got quadruple digits in the back.

No, I just don't want 4chan knowing my personal information. Especially on the business board. I can only imagine how many INTJ psychopaths are using this board.

Dude. Just lie that you were actually working at some shitty low wage half time job. Nobody would probably give a shit if its true or not
