ITT we discuss why the hype around this coin is baseless. I'll start.

Sounds like a fucking childish circus coin

>> No.4673704

great idea but i highly doubt casino operators want would want to license this from them. Casino operators capitalize on the extra edge they have against players
they don't want to offer gamblers fair odds

Well I understand their niche and it has potential. You pay them a liscencing fee and you have your own casino from the ground up. Once other gamblers catch on to blockchain and its uses for fair gambling there will be no choice but to switch over.

Why are you measuring value in dollars? The coin is 3 cents- a massive fluctuation in BTC value may not even bring it to 2 or 4 cents...

No, the edge is the same, FUN just proves to the player that they didn't get cheated.

FunFair is a licensing company. Not being a casino avoids endless statutes, regulations, court decisions, and other hurdles that exist in every single nation and every subdivision of every nation that govern online gambling.
This alone will put FUN well above the actual casino tokens. I had some time to skim over the whitepaper and website:
All of the statutory/regulatory issues I note above still stand. Being a casino is going to be an huge headache and drawback.
Their games are lacking compared to FunFair. Yes, Decent will have sports betting - something FunFair doesn't seem to be targeting. But aside from that, the Decent lineup is weak. Q1 2018 slot machines. Q3 2018 craps. That's it. FunFair is looking for Q1 2018 launch which will include slots, craps, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker.
The Decent team appears to be mostly U.S. based, and the team plans to make a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization to donate some of their house profits. They're also going to be a casino. However, their homepage prohibits U.S. residents from contributing to the ICO, and U.S. gambling laws are incredibly strict. Just looks like sort of a yellow flag to me.
I won't count this as a strike against Decent, but wanted to point out that the FunFair team has been working on their gambling-focused state channels for quite some time now. Decent is a pretty new player - I wonder if their timeline is accurate / if they'll be able to create fast/reliable/low-gas-cost gambling in Q1 2018: the same time projection for FunFair which has a much earlier start.
Just my thoughts.

Last month it seems that Jez hasn't ruled out the options of expanding into sports/esports betting depending on how they do with their current platform in development. Although if they were to get into those fields they probably wouldn't be close to development until Q4 2018 at the earliest I'd assume.
