Let's analyze world events and predict profitable markets. Some interesting things going on:

> Slightly more wars going on than in recent times, but a drawdown of US involvement, so our private manufacturers will probably make more cash than traditional suppliers of US aerospace

> Chinese growth starting to implode, their demand for material is going to shrink and that will lower global commodity costs

> QE is ending in the US, so inflation is probably going to start rising in October. Too many amateur gold mines have opened recently though, so the most traditional inflation hedge is probably not a good one

Some more things to think about:

> The number of new startups in SF is dropping while startup failures are climbing. It's not a good time to bet on small-cap tech, possibly, but it may be a great time to find out what's going to happen to the glut of venture capital.

> The offshoots of the Crimean crisis are going to depress the agricultural economies of Poland and Ukraine, who both sell lots of product to Russia. Agricultural goods priced lower

> China has an increasing presence in Subsaharan Africa. A good side effect of this is that the Chinese Gender Crash caused by the one-child policy is partially offset by an increasing number of African-Chinese wives.

>More Apple faggotry, aka: slighly thinner and apparently faster shitphone.
>More attention whoring from North Korea
>As more people turn to indie media the capitalist shit dispenser machine will get pissed off and try to get people back, maybe by spreading cruel hipster stereotypes that make people look "uncool" for not endorsing the new big thing.

Gold will have $100 rally the next couple months due to seasonal factors as well as inflationary pressures.

Mining is a good sector to enter since it probably can't go much lower then it is now.

If any of your Nostradamus-es could give me the mega millions numbers, that'd be swell.

>As public sympathy slightly shifts towards palestinians being bombed by Israel, mainstream medias will try to spark up the muslim menace again. Al Qaeda will become the new major threat again.
and
>As plane crashes, disappearences, and incidents pile up, and since a bunch of rebels on the ground can blow a plane out with their smuggled warfare, people will start worrying about air safety.

You do the maths about what industry may benefit from that, and what industry will suffer.

Season 4 was shit. Season 5 probably won't be any better. The show will be canceled and that will decimate the entire Canadian Television industry.

Big Media is not particularly known for their skill in propaganda (you wouldn't download 4chan would you) - seems like lobbying might be more their bag? Good point though

What do you guys think of the U.S. financial sector right now?

I'm looking to get some exposure and so far I am thinking BAC or STI.

Thoughts?

Owned BAC and just sold out of JPM
They're at their pre-recession levels again, they might go higher but I doubt it.

I have to agree with you on that. They killed off the best character. And they could have done so much more with the kitsune thing. But that's coming from a gigantic furfag, so maybe I'm just furmad.

Microsoft wants to rename Internet Explorer so people stop negatively associating things with it.

I'm sure somebody is dumb enough to think this makes $MSFT more attractive.

That was an off-remark on a Reddit AMA.

What tangible financial value do you think that brings to $MSFT?
