Android always had a way to track ads to downloads, but for Adwords and Admob, conversions are now there even if an app doesn't have those broadcast receivers set up. My advertisements are based on cost per conversions. I've been paying 2-3 cents an install for Spanish language ads for one app, more money for other languages and apps.

Check out Gamemaker, Construct 2. Best for simple games and shitty soundboard type of stuff.

For more serious apps, look up Android Studio, Eclipse, Phonegap etc.

Basically for Google Play, developer account costs 25$ and if you're in a country that supports Google merchant, then you can sell apps too.

Apple Store is way more tricky. It's 100$ a year and you need to physically have a Mac. Even if your developing on a PC. Plus they review each app before getting it online.

Sure Apple is more retarded, but you can make even more money there. And to all of you "passive income" fags who do Swagbucks or whatever the fuck you do, start making apps. Don't just pump out bullshit, put a little effort in it and it'll be worth it.

One app I wrote is definitely useful, it's the only app on Play which can handle certain file formats on an Android. My version 1 took me 4 days to write. It's a niche market though only 80,000 downloads.

The formula is probably some mix of how many current installs you have, how active they are, and how many new installs you get a day.

The general formula that has held up for me is every month you get a dollar for every 650 active installs you have. But a more exact formula would take in more data points.

you win more often as an app developer, sometimes you only win a few $100, sometimes you win $10000s before it grinds to a halt, a few win millions, there is some skill involved of course, people with less scruples have an advantage, but concerning the proportion that is due to chance the principle is the same

One strategy I could think of is making 9001 shitty apps that don't require a lot of programming (max 5~10 hours) and basically flooding the Play Store.

I really can give a shit about comments like this any more. I do not do this full time. I am going to school and also doing consulting gigs. I also work out, go to dinner with friends and such. I also spend some time on apps. It makes me $400-$500 a week currently. That will be pushed up to $600 a week with more effort, then $700 a week, then more. It will probably take a few years (since I am not doing this 24/7/365) but eventually I will be making $2000 a week.

I'm sure at every point on my way to $2000 a week people will be telling me I am making nothing. I really don't give a shit. I make an easy $400-$500 a week now and am happy with it. When I was making $300 a week on apps people told me I wasn't making anything, when I made $200 a week people said the same, when I made $100 a week people said the same.

I can bank the CEC money plus the app money. That's the beauty of it, I make my consulting fees plus my own personal app money.
