Would any one here mind sharing their shorting/long strategies with me?

What leverage do you use? I see bitmex has up to 100x and bitifinex only has up to 3x.
How much do you short or long at any given time? What percentage of your portfolio does that make up over all?
How do you decide when to pull the trigger? Do you have small set targets or look for other specific things like volume?
Any other useful tips I should know?

Never done this before and have avoided it due to the risk, but am now wanting to try it out.
