Decisions Decisions Edition

Robinhood is a commission free stock trading app on iOS/Android

--Robinhood FAQs --
- VISIT THE WEBSITE FIRST DAMMIT!! - www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on the cash and securities in Robinhood accounts, much like a bank collects interest on cash deposits and by collecting fees from robinhood gold.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

It's their experimental program to limit volatility. JONE is on that stupid program too. The idea is to only let orders that are multiples of $0.05 be placed and it will limit huge volatility.

Well, it works. No one wants to touch these leper stocks. Even with great news they really don't have a flood of buyers or sellers.

One day, I saw JONE move $1.20. Normally that's great, a 120 tick move. In JONE's case, it's only a 24 tick move. And nearly every tick is like a huge wall to climb over.

I jumped on to the research for DGLY, purely because i thought it was funny to say out loud.

They have an array of products for first responders, and some interesting patents that will start their tactical cameras and car cameras recording when they turn on their lights, etc. The patents are interesting but I don't see any significant moat it provides.

but the competition in that field is vast. they are a little guy at around 14mil Cap. The price is sexy, but their charts are not. it looks like specifically these guys are getting eaten alive out there. not to say that this whole industry isn't worth looking into. Even more so if new information about the shooting comes to light with evidence recorded on equipment similar to this product.

i'm moving on, but its a great idea, lad!

I think you're right to look here. But what i've been vibing is a general feeling of FUD from this market after initial pop. Several of the top companies i've compared in this field seem stagnant as of the weeks news. This is pure speculation, but i would put money on people hedging, if not selling out of these companies until some reassurance comes in the form of legislation or some speeches. if MAGA goes out and says "Fuck you liberal. our laws are fine." that might provide a surge. This would probably be a catalyst the other way as well. if "gun control" is bad news to this industry's investors, could provide an entry dip. i'm putting a pin in this.

its interesting though, because its one of those sectors where the sales providing income are of products that are a great asset in times of fear.
I.E. as an asset in a panic-y market, would you rather own a gun? or share of a gun store?

correct me if i'm wrong. My strategy here is to wait for a sexy dip and take a piece of a genuine company worth holding. Usually these events open my eyes to an undervalued asset

There will always be the hummer crowd but the market will move in the direction of the average joe. The average joe doesnt drive a truck. Go out into your companies parking lot and count how many people are driving trucks compared to regular cars. Now compare how many are driving fuel efficient cars compared to all other vehicles. Once the price of electric cars go down then you can expect that more people will switch to electric to save money and the technology will increase in speed and 20 years from now people will be driving used electric cars. People will always drive trucks and muscle cars but it will go the way of manual transmissions. Automatic is worse than manual but because it is easier and cheaper people flocked to it and it won. Thats what will happen to gas cars.

Buy at x price then sell 25% of my shares at 5% increase and 25%-50% more at 10% increase if I have a handle on the min max cycle.
Rebuy 25% at x price and 25%-50% at -10% or wherever I know the minimum area is.
If the price drops when I invest then I sell 10% every 5% decrease and rebuy at the minimum with the money I saved. 50% at first and then if it goes up 5% then I invest the rest back into the stock. Then you sell 50% if it gets back to the original price and try to rebuy half way between the minimum price and your initial price.

The problem I see though is that the switch to electric cars needs a significant infrastructure accomodation. Until every city and most gas stations are outfitted with charging stations then its just not happening and that means government support.
Maybe on a mayoral and gubernatorial level that will be enough but federal support would be a real killer for gas
