I have the following business opportunity with two of my colleagues.

one has contacts to a coffee producer in ethiopia and some of the locals there. he also has contacts to a coffee reseller here. the reseller has informally agreed to buy up to 250 units of ethiopian coffee if we manage to get it to them.

to do so it would require about 120k euros, i.e. 40k from each. we estimate a net revenue of about 10%. if this works we can scale the business up and turn it into higher profits

so the risk is that the we have to be there to take a sample, bring it back and test it. if the agree, we can start shipping. for shipping one of us has to be there to oversee everything. and by that i mean really everything, because they cant be trusted. the other risk are pirates. so if we manage to get here things will be okay.

would you do it?

>informally agreed
no. get it in writing, agree to a payment schedule

that's up next. tho they would still have the right to deny purchase if the coffee has a lower quality tan the sample. but that is an acceptable risk, i guess

10% and it involves pirate risks and your mates actually having that much money available.. no way.

Go to the casino, at least you won't be eaten after you're robbed.

>Sourcing raw materials from 3rd world countries
>10% profit
This veture will be a shittonne of asspain to just make 4k euros. Ask for a bigger profit, because the one with the connection sure is getting a massive profit.

>So the risk is that the we have to be there to take a sample, bring it back and test it
>Bring it back
Why? Test there.

>one of us has to be there to oversee everything. and by that i mean really everything
I'd do it.

How long would this take? You can make 4k panhandling with a clever sign

it's not unsellable. it's just under price that was agreed upon.

>he one with the connection sure is getting a massive profit.
he claims it will be evenly distributed

>Test there.
we'd test there. the thing is that things during the transport can go wrong. e.g. niggers exchanging our product with lesser quality stuff

>sorry anon the coffee's quality is too low, not buying
>wait two weeks while you panic over paying to store a warehouse of coffee
>ok anon I'll buy the coffee at a 50% discount because of the low quality and because we're such nice guys :)

If you've been to the farm, they're not going to switch out they product. They would just take the money if they were going to rip you off.

it'd would take about 4 weeks

So 4k euros for a month's work? Not worth it imo unless payment increases or reseller will take double the supply.

Saw you said in OP that you can scale the business. How long would that take?
