So I was also just learning about NFTs. Imagine its like a digital license that allows usage or shows somethings unique. Such as you bought an artist music track, a picture is original and you were the first buyer or designer. A call of duty/Halo/fortnite skin that has a license when you unlock/buy it and allows you to use it cross game or even cross platform

NFTs means non fungible token, meaning each token is unique and indivisible, like a house. One house is not the exact same as another house. This is unlike dollars or bitcoin, where 1 BTC is the exact same as another 1 BTC.

In theory, NFTs can be used for a lot of things, almost anything. The reality is most NFTs are completely fucking useless. The NFTs you see are probably all art NFTs that speculators are buying and trading.

>> No.30382961

>>30382759
an NFT is a token ID that is mapped to a wallet address, that's literally all that it is. the ID can also be mapped to a URI, which is a link to a file that contains some data about the token, like an image URL and some descriptive attributes about it.

it's just a link to a file

it depends on what functions are in the contract. and an NFT would only depend on the ethereum network if that was where it was originally minted, generally speaking. by that i mean it's possible for NFTs to be traded cross chain, after the code for it exists, so in that sense they don't necessarily depend on the eth network

>> No.30383280

>>30383129
yeah and you could also create your own NFT using the same image. but if you tried to sell it then it would technically be counterfeit so it might have no value.

>> No.30383534

you can't make money out of NFTs unless you are an already established artist or have freinds who run news piece on cryptosites to shill your work. you could get lucky I guess and one of your memes gets popular but thats like a $200 dollar gamble due to gas fees

>> No.30383589

>>30383361
i don't think anything exists for it yet, but it's just the same process that wrapped coins use. like how you can trade btc/ltc etc. on ethereum, they are "wrapped" versions of the coins. each wrapped version of a coin represents the actual real version of the coin somewhere else, sitting in some wallet somewhere. the wrapped version is just a receipt for that real version, that you can use on a different network to trade with.

Lukso roadmap this month
1. Tier 1 Exchange announcement
2. German Premier league team partnership
3. Mainnet
4. Launching of Dematerialised.
5. Announcement of partnerships.
6. Deployment of dapps.
7. Flexing of Ethereum 2.0 tech.
8. NFT 2.0 standards erc725
9. Universal profiles.

Oh did I mention the founder is the guy who invented the erc20 standard on which all eth shitcoins are built?
How about the fact that he also developed the web3.js library, on which almost all dapps are built.

Invest into people anon, don’t fall for disinfo and misinfo.
Ofcourse the youtuber shilled nfts will pump hard one day, but look at that consistent growth on lukso.

Also wanted to add, you can’t bet on which nfts will win or lose but think of lukso as a nft index fund. It’s building the nft standard and platform and it will succeed simply because of the guy behind it.
So this is a stress free investment.
You’re investing in platforms rather than the nfts themselves which is a lot less risky.
