What should I expect in an altseason? Can anyone here describe it for me, if it's not too much to ask? Will people just FOMO in whatever altcoin they find that has an uptrend? Will everything pump, including shitcoins?

I just want to know so I don't end up holding the wrong coins through it. I'm holding PRQ, XCM, QNT, KTYLO and ALBT.

Last time it was about a month. December 10th through January 13th. It honestly makes no sense looking back. Bitcoin reached the top and started bleeding then alts like ETH started mooning for 4 weeks before bitcoin had a dead cat bounce and brought the entire market down with it.
As far as alts go damn near anything should suffice. Just go look through the coin market snapshots from December 2017; literal shitcoins were blasting into the top 50.

ADA, DOT, XLM, ATOM, XTZ should be good bets. Going farther down I could see something like CKB going parabolic. Coins that are generally tied to TVL like KNC and SUSHI could get overbought and have massive pumps as well.
