>25yo, recently got my msc, live in Western-Europe

Total income
> Finance Job: 2.5k after tax (work 3 days x 10 h)
> Inheritance: Get around 500 eu a month (adjusted for inflation)
> Solarpanels: 50-100eu a month

Total costs
> Food, insurance, leisure, clothes = 250-300eu
a month

I have a paid off house, no utility costs, vegetable garden, home gym, low cost hobbies (lake to swim in, library card, beautiful forest to hike in).

Savings:
Around 50k in the bank
Around 25k invested aggresively (return yield of 15-20%)
Around 25k in index (return yield 5%-10%)

I save around 2.8k now which i invest/save, but i am completely unhappy. I am basically in the prime of my life, but lose 3/7 of my week working on a job i hate.

My plan is to semi-retire and work 1-2 days max, doing something i like. Spend the rest of my week, to get more /fit/, follow a more strict diet, get more sunlight, be more outside, hang-out with my friends and family more often, read more, run more, hone my guitar skills, spend more time in my garden, learn a new language etc.

Or i could wagecuck for 5 years more and have around 150-200k more saved up, which i could invest in high div funds or buy a cheap appartement and rent it out for an extra 800-900 a month. But lose 5 years of my prime...

What would be wise?

Would prob work some more. Men that do not work with no money can go insane.

I am wired diffently, working outside and for myself gives me pleasure. Doing something for someone else makes me intensely miserable.

Then open a company, its always better to work. Just in case

If You work for Yourself it's even better.

just for shits, if youre interested in learning more about "semi-retirement" and how one person handles it, she has a really good blog where she talks about it: https://sachachua.com/blog/ ; sacha is an extremely based emacs chad and semi-retired software engineer

welcome; hope you enjoy fren. I think she has a pretty awesome life.

regarding your plan, if it's low-cost for you to try it out, then by all means try it for a period of time and then review it, and whether or not things are going the way you want -- are you happy, has your life gotten better, etc.

As a form of risk mitigation, making sure that you are still "working" in some fashion, and keeping marketable skills, is IMO important if you end up aborting on your plan. But I'm a wagecuck through and through, so I'm biased. Also it sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders so I'm sure you've already considered this factor.
