Where are the real opportunities, I'm within reach of making it from crypto, but I'd like to potentially pursue something lucrative in the future, where is the real money being made?

250k is 150k after taxes, so you'd need to work 70 consecutive years to make it (10m). Try again.

data science when coming from an engineering background (and none of those data science degrees given by business schools, I've seen some of those)

Other than that, software engineer, again, only if you come from a good school.

However all of this comes with hard work and sacrifices, but advanced technical knowledge in a world where people cant even keep up with technology despite it being omnipresent
is highly, highly valuable.

And that knowledge can even apply to markets, business schools arent shit when you're capable of setting up an AI that trades for you, or you have the mathematical background to make precise and efficient market models.

In-house counsel here, $210k. Work for the state and earn a pension, good bennies, and reasonable hours. Fuck big law.

Law school isn’t that hard. If you have decent reading comprehension you can get through. Busting your ass to make it in big law or in-house isn’t guaranteed, though, but even ambulance chasers and criminal d. attorneys get paid reasonably well.
