IF you for some reason hold bonds, the most reasonable thing to do is to hold imho. If YCC -> Fed buys bonds, yields go down and your bonds go up in value. If no YCC -> yields go up, markets collapse and deflation runs high. But you will get higher yields, meaning cash in a situation where cash is king

Also make sure that you always get the real price of BHS from https://ceo.ca/bhs, do a currency conversion to euros and put a bid in, don't blindly pay the ask.

The current ask price for BHS in Frankfurt is 0.14 euros which is about 0.21 CAD, whereas the real price of BHS right now is 0.19 CAD. So that's an 11% difference if you're not careful. Also, Degiro charges a 7 euro fee whenever you buy or sell penny stocks so you have to bear that in mind as well.

(People here always need to remember to repeat this information whenever any one asks about buying penny stocks on Degiro or in Frankfurt.)

Although Gold did back the USD there was not enough gold to back the entire global economy booming after WW2. For that reason the USD had to be decoupled. It was a bizarre combination of post-War boom, fiat, metallism, and international hegemony. I recommend reading more about Bancor, the Gold Standard, and the results of converting to Fiat (Plaza Accord).
