I only have one question: when people sell bonds(enough to drive bond prices down, thus driving yields up) WHAT are they moving they're money into? Just cash? Obviously, it should be gold and silver or other inflation hedges, but right now that doesn't seem to be the case.

I pay the premiums because they can be bought in increments, are more manageable for trade and have a high liquidity. A lot of smaller bullion and coins shops want them in their inventory but have difficulty getting them. When PMs moon, that little bit of premium you paid will be trivial.

SLV and GLD are futures contracts and as such are basically IOUs. For Silver, there are anywhere between 100 and 180 shares of SLV for each physical ounce in the vault. 100 and 180 other people can lay claim to the same ounce of silver that you do. When push comes to shove, are you going to be the one to get that ounce of silver? The prospectus above says no, their preferred partners have priority, meaning the bullion banks and other institutions.
