You don't have to click on the ads. Just be patient and change the settings to 5 ads per hour and disable auto contribute. The pay out is every month and you have to have at least 25 BAT to withdraw. Also, you had 4 years.

If you've just started Brave, you won't get your first BAT payout until you've accumulated 25.

You don't actually have to click on the ads notifications that pop up or the advertisements on the new tab page. Just seeing them is enough to get a register. Ads are also serviced by region, so if you live in the middle of nowhere, you'll get hardly anything. The amount of BAT you get is determined by the advertiser, not Brave, and isn't some flat rate tugboat that comes in 5 times an hour.
