Probably could have said the same thing about BTC at $230 and felt correct about saying that. Why do you think it's unlikely?

Long term, easily.
This bull run? Probably not.
But Monero should hold it's value very well in the post bull run dump, and I expect it to weather the eventual bear market wonderfully.

you can, it's not illegal (despite being delisted), just use a P2P service; that's the best way to go anyways.

it didn't the last time though, it's still down -90% on the btc ratio and 60% in USD. I don't think it'll hit that this bull run either. I thought it might be able to a little while ago but sentiment is still too bearish and people would rather buy vaporware shitcoins.

I don't understand why XMR's bitcoin ratio being down the shitter is such a big talking point of fud. Bitcoin is literally in the mass adoption stage by institutions right now, so it's fucking going parabolic. Of course the BTC ratio is suffering. Most coins are down between 70% and 90% from their all-time highs on the BTC ratio.

Unlimited supply basically prevents the price from going up too much
There's also not much adoption by normalfags because the fact that it provides total privacy is used as a source of FUD i.e. "only criminals would want untraceable money" and things like that

In the March 2020 crash XMR lost ~2/3 of its value and BTC lost ~1/5 its value.

In the Dec 2020 to present bull run XMR gained less than 2x and BTC gained ~2.6x.

So when risk is on BTC is better and when risk is off BTC is better.

I really like XMR, but it seems to underperform as an investment.
