Anon you don't have a 6 month emergency fund??

What if you get fired, evicted and your dad dies in the same week? You're screwed!!! You dunderhead!

Keep your “emergency fund” wherever the fuck you want as long as its liquid enough. Also wouldn't make much sense to have a huge ass fund for “split-second emergencies” with a 1-2k checking account transaction limit (which the average NPC is stuck in)

I have around 500$ on my card to pay bills and shit for a few months, and maybe 1k or less in cash. Besides this I have around mid six figures in shitcoins and yield farming, and if I ever need to cash out I can always go to the crypto ATM and cash out some ETH anonymously after it's passed through Tornado.cash or XMR.

I don't know if you've been following the news for the past year, but this has probably happened to thousands of people recently. It only takes 2-3 emergencies in short succession to completely derail your life, having a fraction of your net worth set aside "just in case" and losing buying power to inflation is better than the alternative.

>> No.29841342

Yeah, imagine needing government bailouts after 2 weeks of decreased income. Fucking idiots.

>> No.29841360

>>29841267
sure, but how long does it take to liquidate assets? no one here is buying extremely illiquid assets, it's a simple market sell away from being liquid again.

>> No.29841523

Fired? I just fucking retired.

>> No.29841624

>>29841360
The issue isn't liquidity, the issue is stability. Most of what /biz/ discusses on a daily basis are "generally" extremely volatile investments, whether that's crypto or penny stocks or some meme shit like GME. Every single week some anon buys up the bags of another anon and is left with a fraction of their initial investment. In an emergency you'd be forced to sell at a loss, so now you're even worse off than if you had just kept it in cash to begin with.

sure, but thats a separate issue. You should have enough stable, liquid assets to cover situations like that (bonds, etc)
